The Association Between Gender and SRQ-29 Domains of Substance Use and Psychotic Experiences Among Preclinical Medical Students

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Mahasiswa kedokteran preklinik berada dalam lingkungan akademik dengan tekanan tinggi yang dapat memengaruhi kesehatan mental. Jenis kelamin merupakan faktor sosial-demografik yang dapat berkaitan dengan perbedaan kerentanan terhadap penyalahgunaan zat dan pengalaman psikotik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan jenis kelamin dengan domain penyalahgunaan zat dan pengalaman psikotik berdasarkan Self-Reporting Questionnaire-29 pada mahasiswa kedokteran preklinik. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan studi observasional analitik dengan pendekatan potong lintang. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 367 mahasiswa S1 Kedokteran preklinik yang diperoleh menggunakan teknik total sampling. Data primer dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner demografi dan Self-Reporting Questionnaire-29. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji chi-square dengan tingkat signifikansi p < 0,05. Besar hubungan dianalisis menggunakan odds ratio dan risk ratio. Hasil: Jenis kelamin berhubungan signifikan dengan penyalahgunaan zat dan pengalaman psikotik. Pada domain penyalahgunaan zat, diperoleh p = 0,004 dengan OR = 14,85 dan RR = 14,06. Pada domain pengalaman psikotik, diperoleh p = 0,009 dengan OR = 2,08 dan RR = 1,82. Sebaliknya, jenis kelamin tidak berhubungan signifikan dengan distress emosional (p = 0,696) maupun stres pascatrauma (p = 0,973). Kesimpulan: Jenis kelamin berhubungan dengan penyalahgunaan zat dan pengalaman psikotik pada mahasiswa kedokteran preklinik. Skrining kesehatan mental berkala dan intervensi yang sensitif terhadap perbedaan gender diperlukan untuk mendeteksi perilaku berisiko dan pengalaman psikologis secara dini.
